Gen 1:1-5
God Fixed It

1. Notice what God is doing and why God is doing it.
Day 1 - God created the world, light, and darkness - For Himself?
         No, for mankind.
Day 2 - God created the firmament. For Himself?
Day 3 - God created the dry land. For Himself?
Day 4 - God created heavenly lights.
Day 5 - God created sea and air life.
Day 6 - God created land life and God create man.

2. \\#Ge 1:24-26\\ God created man in His image (important) and then
gave man dominion, control, ownership of all that He had created.

Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth
the living creature after his kind, cattle, and
creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his
kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his
kind, and cattle after their kind, and every
thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind:
and God saw that it was good.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness: and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air, and over the cattle, and over all the
earth, and over every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth.

3. God also created a body for man and gave that to him. Remember,
you are not a body. You are a soul. You live in a body.

4. \\#Ge 2:8-9\\ God created Eden for Adam and Eve. The capital of
the world with every fruit bearing tree or vine in the whole
     world.

Ge 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden
eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom
he had formed.
9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to
grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight,
and good for food; the tree of life also in the
midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge
of good and evil.

5. \\#Ge 2:19-20\\ To demonstrate whose everything was, God let Adam
name all that He had created.

Ge 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God
formed every beast of the field, and every fowl
of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see
what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam
called every living creature, that was the name
thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to
the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the
field; but for Adam there was not found an help
meet for him.

6. Emphasis is that God created all he is and gave him all that he
has. It was all a gift of God.

7. There was one provision:

Ge 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man,
saying, Of every tree of the garden thou
mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good
and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the
day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely
die.

    a. Don’t eat of one tree.
        (1) That was pretty simple.
        (2) That is all the commands there were.
        (3) Just one thing to do.
    b. We know how that turned out:

Ge 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was
good for food, and that it was pleasant to the
eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise,
she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and
gave also unto her husband with her; and he did
eat.

    c. Notice what happened when Adam and Eve sinned.

Ge 2:17 …in the day that thou eatest thereof
thou shalt surely die.

8. Die does not mean "cease to exist." Never has. That is what
man’s conception of death is. Death means separate. If it
makes it any easier, you can think of death a forfeiting. When
death comes, you forfeit the things you have.
    a. If only one had sinned, they would have forfeited the company
        of the other.
    b. They did forfeit the Garden of Eden.

Ge 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed
at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and
a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep
the way of the tree of life.

    c. In fact, that forfeited the entire planet. God allowed them
to stay there a bit longer, but they lost the right to do
so as soon as they sinned.
    d. They forfeited their lives, their futures, their very
        existence.
    e. People want to make God out to be the "bad guy" here. God
gave all of these things and one provision. Mankind broke
the provision so all the things God had given, God took back.

9. Probably unbeknown to man and maybe Satan, God had made man so
much in God’s image, that man was eternal.
    a. He would live somewhere forever.
    b. God determined that man would live without Him forever.
    c. It is a terrible things to be separated from God.
    d. That is what hell and the Lake of Fire are. The absence of
        God’s goodness, God’s mercy, God’s gifts, God’s presence.

Man needs help. God has fixed it. Let me share some areas in which
God has fixed man’s problems.

I. God fixed man’s problem of sin.
    A. You are a sinner for two reasons:
        1. You have broken God’s commands.
            a. The command were increased because man, in his sinful
                state, kept doing wrong.
            b. Every command is a lesson on what not to do.
            c. But every command also became a boundary not to cross.
            d. You crossed it many times.
                (1) \\#Ex 20:15\\ Thou shalt not steal.
                (2) \\#Ex 20:16\\ Thou shalt not bear false witness.
                (3) \\#Ex 20:17\\ Thou shalt not covet anything that
                     is thy neighbors’.
                (4) \\#Ex 20:12\\ Honor thy mother and thy father.
            e. These are not the worst things you can do wrong but
they demonstrate that you have sinned.
        2. You are a descendent of Adam.

1Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die….

            a. We have his sin genes in us.
            b. It is our very nature to sin.
    B. You and I needed help.
        1. Jesus came to fix that.

1John 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our
sins: and not for ours only, but also for the
sins of the whole world.

            a. Propitiation is payment.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward
us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us.

            b. "for us" is instead of us.
        2. While it is true:
            a. God set the standard - perfection.
            b. God set the punishment - hell.
            c. God also gave a choice - will.
            d. God paid the bill - salvation.
        3. Now you must choose to be saved or not.
        4. Conditions:
            a. Faith
                (1) You must believe that Jesus is who He said He
                     was. (God)
                (2) That He did what He said He would do. (die)
                (3) That He will do what He has promised He would.
                     (save you.)
            b. Repent
                 (1) Turn from disobedience.
                 (2) Disobedience is what Adam. It is what got us
                      into this mess.
                 (3) Now, you get a "do-ever."
                 (4) Do better than Adam!

II. God fixed man’s disconnect from God.
    A. Sin separated us from God.

Is 59:2 But your iniquities have separated
between you and your God, and your sins have
hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

    B. Man was not designed to be independent, autonomous, on his
        own, separate from God.
        1. Our bodies get sick, feeble, old, and die.
        2. Our minds do the same.
            a. But out minds can’t handle the stress. (fear, anxiety,
                panic, discouragement, depression)
            b. Some get so bad that they cannot function without
                outside help - medicines.
            c. Some get so bad, even that does not help.
            d. If you think you are much better than that, you are
                not.
                (1) The brightest uses only 10% of his brain.
                (2) We use that wrong!
    C. The Holy Ghost came to fix that.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy
Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he
shall teach you all things, and bring all things
to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto
you.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth,
is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he
shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew
you things to come.

        1. The Holy Ghost is here to provide some measure of healing
            and thinking for us.
        2. The Holy Ghost does not remove all of our problems. That
will not happen until we have a new heaven and earth to
            live upon.
        3. He does remove the fear, the depression, the
            discouragement.
        4. The more you learn to lean on Him, trust Him, obey Him,
the more you will be able to do and think correctly in
            this world.

III. God fixed man’s housing problem.
    A. Adam and Eve lost everything God created for them.
        1. It all became the Satan’s.

Luke 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this
power will I give thee, and the glory of them:
for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever
I will I give it.

Eph 2:2 …the prince of the power of the air…

        2. You and I are still here but….
            a. We do not belong.
            b. We are on "borrowed time;" that is grace.
            c. We are going to have to leave.
            d. Unless God steps in, we have no place to go.
    B. God did step in. God fixed it.
        1. God created a new place for man to live on.

John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I
will come again, and receive you unto myself;
that where I am, there ye may be also.

Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I
say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in
paradise.

        2. God created a new body to live in.

Phil 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that
it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body,
according to the working whereby he is able even
to subdue all things unto himself.

1Jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but
we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be
like him; for we shall see him as he is.
