This chapter, although giving a different lesson, rides on the heels
of the last chapter.

\\#1:10-9:18\\ - Lengthy lessons (proverbs) (A Father’s Exhortations)
V. \\#Pro 4:1-9:19\\ Various Exhortations
    A. \\#7:1-5\\ Listen to Me - As so often, the father pleads and
commands the son to pay attention to what he is about to say.
        1. \\#1-2\\ "Keep" - Twice the son is told to keep these
            words and commandments before him.
        2. \\#3\\ "Bind them" to himself.
        3. \\#4\\ Make wisdom your family, here a "sister."
        4. Stay away from the "strange woman." In this context, the
strange woman is the repeat adulteress.
    B. \\#7:6-23\\ A Young Man’s Demise
        1. The Man
            a. \\#7\\ He is a "simple" man; that is, unsuspecting,
naive. But he is also void of understanding
                <Strong’s 03820>.

Proverbs 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with
a woman lacketh understanding <03820>: he that
doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

                (1) This word is usually translated HEART (478 of 550
                     times).
                (2) It is not a reference to mere intellect or wisdom
but more of character and conscience. This
person is missing something essential to the
quality of life that God intended him to have.
            b. \\#22-23\\ Because of what he is missing in his
character, he is headed for destruction.
                (1) As surely as an ox to be slaughtered.
                (2) As surely as a fool to the stocks.
                (3) As surely as a dart to the liver.
                (4) As surely as a bird to the trap.
            c. While most view sex as a game to be played and
enjoyed, the Bible warns repeatedly that it is a
pathway to destruction, both physically and
                spiritually.
                (1) Sex is not just a joining of two bodies.
                (2) God has created it to be the joining of two
                     spirits.
                (3) Those who think it of it as but a single physical
experience are doing untold damage to their
                     spiritual being.

Matthew 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain,
but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined
together, let not man put asunder.

        2. \\#10-21\\ The Woman
            a. \\#19\\ She is married.
            b. \\#10\\ She is a harlot (one who sells herself,
perhaps for money, perhaps for pleasure).
            c. She has designed this meetings:
                (1) \\#10\\ She dressed the part.
                (2) \\#16-17\\ She decorated her bed.
                (3) \\#19-20\\ She planned her opportunity.
                (4) \\#15\\ She sought her victim.
                (5) She used her tools - beauty \\#10\\ and speech
                     \\#21\\. The one not mentioned \\#Pro 6:24-25\
                     is her eyes.
            d. \\#14\\ To this wicked harlot, religion and adultery
                could easily co-exist together.
            e. \\#11\\ She was LOUD and STUBBORN. The way she was
raised had an effect on her behavior and would
                determine her eternity.

1Peter 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection
to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the
word, they also may without the word be won by
the conversation of the wives;
2 While they behold your chaste conversation
coupled with fear.
3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward
adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing
of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart,
in that which is not corruptible, even the
ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is
in the sight of God of great price.

    C. \\#7:24-27\\ Listen to Me
        1. \\#24\\ This lesson ends as it began with the father
pleading with his son to listen to him.
        2. \\#25\\ Do not let your heart <03820> degenerate to
the level that you would engage with this type of
            immoral woman.
        3. \\#26\\ She will hurt you physically.
        4. \\#27\\ She will hurt you spiritually.
