Rev 20:1-3
The New World Order

Last week, we looked at the last war. While we do not and can not
know for certain whether they go together or not, I put Ezekiel 38
and 39 with the Battle of Armageddon. Whether they go together or
not, the end result of the Battle of Armageddon is the same. It will
be holocaustic.

Jesus Christ has revealed Himself as some One new to this world. In
the beginning, Jesus presented Himself to the world as Creator. To
Israel, He presented Himself as the Lawgiver; but at the same time He
also revealed that He was the God of Mercy and Forgiveness. In the
New Testament, He came as the Lamb and the Suffering Savior. To the
church He has been the Intercessor and our Great High Priest. When
Revelation began, Jesus introduced Himself to the world in two
offices they have never seen Him in before. First as the Judge, then
when Jesus’ eyes ignited into a flame in \\#Rev 19:12\\, He became
the world’s Executioner.

Again, those are positions that the world has never seen our God
take. The world likes to say Jesus is a cruel, judgmental God; but
they have never seen Him act anything like that—but they will. I
believe we need to spend a few more minutes this morning considering
Jesus’ return in these two new rules, Judge and Executioner.

I. God has not forgotten anyone’s sins.

Hosea 7:2 And they consider not in their hearts
that I remember all their wickedness: now their
own doings have beset them about; they are
before my face.

    A. Isaiah is an Old Testament book that describes this time
        period prophetically.
        1. Listen to what Isaiah wrote:

Isa 3:13 The LORD standeth up to plead, and
standeth to judge the people.

Isa 13:11 And I will punish the world for their
evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I
will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease,
and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

       2. Your sins must be under the blood or you will face the
           Judge for them.
       3. The judgment day ON the earth is called "The Day of the
Lord." All of the tribulation is collectively "The
Day of the Lord" but Revelation 19 is describing the
           single Day of the Lord.
       4. Jesus will make two appearances just seven years apart and
between those two comings, every eye shall see the Lord.
    B. The New Testament describes this day in three different
        passages:
        1. This is the day when every eye shall see Him.

Rev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every
eye shall see him, and they also which pierced
him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail
because of him. Even so, Amen.

        2. This is the day when every knee shall bow before Him,

Ro 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith
the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every
tongue shall confess to God.

        3. And this is the day when every sinner shall fear Him.

2Thess 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest
with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed
from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them
that know not God, and that obey not the gospel
of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting
destruction from the presence of the Lord, and
from the glory of his power;

    C. These, along with the texts found in Revelation, tell us that
when Jesus returns, He will come with five things:
        1. The saints \\#Rev 19:14\\
        2. The angels \\#2Thess 1:7\\
        3. His power
        4. His wrath
        5. His justice
    D. With those five things, this world is going to see a side of
Jesus that they insist does not exists and they are going
to wish they had been correct.
II. So what happens next?
    A. When Jesus comes:
        1. The persecution of the Jews will have forced the remaining
Jews to flee from Israel \\#Mark 13:14\\.
        2. The Jews that remained in Israel will have gathered in
Jerusalem and that city will have fallen, the Jews being
lead away in chains as captives \\#Zec 14:1-2\\.
        3. Jesus will destroy the armies of the anti-Christ with His
mouth \\#Rev 19:17-20\\ causing them to dissolve away
            \\#Zec 14:12\\.
        4. The bodies of the dead will be abundant that the fowls of
the air and the beasts of the earth will be summoned to
            eat their bodies \\#Rev 19:17-18, 21\\.
        5. As Jesus puts His feet down on the Mount of Olives, the
mountain will divide into four parts, causing anyone
still alive to flee \\#Zec 12:5\\.
    B. \\#Rev 19:20-21\\ The Beast and his False Prophet will be cast
        into the Lake of fire.
        1. These will be the first two to be cast into this new and
            eternal place of torment.
        2. I think it is interesting to note that they are humans not
            demons.
        3. This place is not hell.
            (a) Hell, in the Bible, seems to be used of a temporary
place of suffering where the lost are kept until
                 their final judgment.
            (b) We will read about that judgment \\#Rev 20:11-15\\.
            (c) But the place the lost are sentenced to AFTER that
judgment is Lake of Fire \\#Rev 20:15\\.
            (d) That is the eternal place of damnation.
        4. That is the place that God has worked so hard to keep
you out of; however, if you feel the same about God, His
Rule, and His commands as Satan, you might as well plan
on going with him to the Lake of Fire and Brimstone
because that is the choice you are making.
        5. These two demon-possessed humans will be the first to be
cast alive into this lake and they will be tormented
            there forever.
    C. \\#Rev 20:1-3\\ Satan is cast into a bottomless pit for 1,000
        years.
        1. This is not Satan’s judgment.
            a. It is Satan’s arrest and imprisonment.
            b. It is only a temporary imprisonment, lasting 1,000
                years.
        2. The Greeks had a word for a 1,000 years and we have
translated it into the English language.
            a. It is the word "millennium."
            b. We refer to this time period as the Millennium Reign
                of Jesus Christ.
        3. We have seen this bottomless pit before.
            a. \\#Rev 9:1-3\\ When the fifth trumpet sounded, demonic
beings were released from a bottomless pit.
            b. Back then we discussed the fact that some demons were
so bad that God has never released onto the earth,
but He did during the tribulation.
            c. Now God takes Satan has locks him away in that same
                bottomless pit for 1,000 years.
        4. Why does God release Satan again after 1,000 years?
            a. The Bible does not say but I have a guess.
            b. Perhaps it is to show this is NOT all Adam and Eve’s
                fault.
            c. Here after 1,000 of living under Jesus’ reign in an
almost perfect world, the devil is released and the
                whole world follows after him.
            d. You cannot blame that one on Adam and Eve!
    D. During this 1,000 years, there will still be sin but Jesus
will rule over the affairs of men and it will be a peaceful
        time on the earth.
        1. This will be the final fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophet of
            Jesus Christ.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a
son is given: and the government shall be upon
his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

        2. Since man is still a sinner, Jesus will be a tough Ruler.

Re 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of
iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be
broken to shivers: even as I received of my
Father.

        3. But it will be a time of peace.

Isa 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations,
and shall rebuke many people: and they shall
beat their swords into plowshares, and their
spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not
lift up sword against nation, neither shall
they learn war any more.

        4. God will return the beasts of the world to their pre-fall
            state.

Is 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the
lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the
kid; and the calf and the young lion and the
fatling together; and a little child shall
lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their
young ones shall lie down together: and the
lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the
hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall
put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my
holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of
the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover
the sea.

    E. But before the millennial reign of Jesus can be a time of
        peace, two things must happen.
        1. The scattered Jews must be brought back the land of
            Israel.
            a. As you know, since Israel returned to the land in
1948, there has been fighting by Israel’s haters to
                take that land.
            b. With the anti-Christ’s help, they will have won—but
                then Jesus comes back.
            c. He will bring the Jews back to Israel one last time.

Isa 11:11 And it shall come to pass in that
day, that the Lord shall set his hand again
the second time to recover the remnant of his
people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and
from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush,
and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath,
and from the islands of the sea.

Isa 11:16 And there shall be an highway for
the remnant of his people, which shall be left,
from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the
day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Isa 27:13 And it shall come to pass in that day,
that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they
shall come which were ready to perish in the land
of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of
Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy
mount at Jerusalem.

            d. Once back in their land, God will restore the priest-
hood and build a temple and the Jews will worship
Him as the Lord God Almighty!
        2. The nations that have come against Israel must be judged.
            a. God made a promise to Abraham that must be kept.

Ge 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee,
and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee
shall all families of the earth be blessed.

            b. Jesus told us what He would do to the nations that
                aligned themselves against Israel.

Matt 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his
glory, and all the holy angels with him, then
shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations:
and he shall separate them one from another, as a
shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand,
but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right
hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of
the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I
was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a
stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye
visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying,
Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee?
or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee
in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and
came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done
it unto one of the least of these my brethren,
ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left
hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting
fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat:
I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in:
naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in
prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying,
Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst,
or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison,
and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I
say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one
of the least

            c. On this day, the allocation of the nations shall be
greatly changed. God will give to Israel all of the
land of Moab, Edom, Ammon, the Philistines, and much
of the land of Egypt, Syria, and Iraq. (Genies 15)

Interestingly, I think most if not all of this will be done with some
75 days of the end of the tribulation. \\#Dan 12:11-12\\ The human
race will go from a time where the physical laws of the universe were
set aside for super-natural laws and from a time of super-natural
laws will be set aside for spiritual laws. For example, the angels
may actually help transport Jews back to their land:

Mt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a
great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather
together his elect from the four winds, from
one end of heaven to the other.

What a day that is going to be and we will see next week that we, the
saved sitting in this room and around the globe today, will be there
to see it all. I pray that you will be there. If you have trusted
Jesus you will. If you have not, by that time, you will most likely
be in hell waiting for your final judgment to begin.
